Throughout his career Andrew has developed specialised knowledge of industry models and approaches in the rail sector and has extensive experience of working on passenger demand forecasting and research studies for private and public sector organisations as well as leading and supporting franchise specification / change and transactions. 

He also has strong experience in business case development having worked on the HS2 Strategic Case for the UK Department for Transport and Commercial Analysis of HS2 for HS2 Ltd.

Andrew is an expert in the analysis of rail data in the UK to understand passenger markets and has wide-ranging knowledge of the rail industry overall, which enables him to address particular issues and to evaluate commercial and operational opportunities.

Britain’s railways after the COVID-19 shock – three imperatives to recovery

As the nations of Great Britain have started to ease their respective lockdown restrictions the public are beginning to enjoy greater freedoms, movement and activity. However, while the future is likely to remain uncertain for some months to come, with no medicinal pathway to facilitate a return to ‘normal’, it is time for the railway to consider what it will need to deliver for its future users. The removal of restrictions doesn’t mean that our behaviours and inclinations to travel and use rail will be the same in the post-COVID-19 world.
