Steer announces James Grinnell as new Chief People and Talent Officer
Steer has appointed James Grinnell as Chief People and Talent Officer, strengthening our leadership as we scale globally. With more than 20 years’ experience across professional services and infrastructure, James will lead our global people agenda, building capability, supporting commercial ambition and reinforcing the culture that underpins our success.
Steer is pleased to announce that James Grinnell has joined us as Chief People and Talent Officer, strengthening our leadership team as we focus on growth, commercial performance, and providing solutions to complex challenges for clients across our global business.
James brings more than two decades of strategic people leadership experience from international professional services, construction, and infrastructure contexts, with a strong track record of supporting organisational growth, strengthening leadership capability and enabling commercial performance across complex and diverse markets. Most recently, he served as Group People Director at Currie & Brown, a global construction and asset management consultancy, where he led the design and implementation of people strategy across more than 25 countries and supported organisational growth and transformation.
During his tenure, James played a key role in shaping leadership development programmes, guiding executive teams through change and acquiring and integrating talent at scale. He previously held senior HR leadership at other sizeable firms, bringing broad functional experience spanning talent, organisational design, culture, capability development and regional people operations.
His appointment comes at an exciting stage for Steer following a year of strong performance and with growth plans in Europe, India and North America. James will lead our global people agenda alongside our existing People Team, with a focus on building capability at scale, supporting commercial ambition, and reinforcing the values and culture that underpin our clients’ and our own success.
