Steer builds New Mobility team with three strategic hires
Steer has expanded its New Mobility team with three senior specialists, boosting capability across EV infrastructure, micromobility and future transport technologies. Their combined experience enhances our support for clients, shaping and delivering the next wave of sustainable mobility.
Steer has expanded its New Mobility team in the UK with the appointment of three senior hires, further strengthening the company’s expertise across electric vehicles, micromobility and emerging mobility technologies.
At a time of accelerating demand for its advisory services within the public and private sectors, the expansion reflects Steer’s growing portfolio of EV and future mobility work. From advising Transport for the South East on strategy and on-street charging delivery to helping create sustainable, low-carbon communities through projects such as the Ancoats Mobility Hub in Manchester, we are bringing the future of transport to the UK.
Bhavin Makwana joins as an Associate with extensive experience across EV infrastructure, fleet transition and self-driving technologies. Formerly in a senior leadership role at Zenzic, he helped shape national programmes for the UK’s connected and automated mobility ecosystem and led major market insights and funding initiatives across the UK, EU and US.
Senior Consultant Tom Gardner brings experience in strategy, transport tech and local government. A specialist in shared micromobility, he has worked at Citymapper and the London Borough of Merton, where he delivered e-cycle hire schemes, cycle hire bay programmes and EV-focused mobility strategies.
Lawrence Penn also joins as a Senior Consultant in the Leeds office, bringing expertise in micromobility, self-driving vehicles, mobility hubs and new business models. Recognised as one of CILT’s 35 Under 35, he adds further capability across inclusive mobility and early-stage innovation.
Together, these appointments deepen Steer’s ability to support clients across the UK and internationally as they plan, deploy and scale the next generation of mobility and EV infrastructure.
