Steer led the development of a new responsive mobile site for Sound Transit, the transit operator for Seattle, Washington. We worked closely with Sound Transit and their UX partners, Anthro-Tech, to prototype, test and build the site including all back-end development.
The site provides real-time transit information using smartphone features to make it easy to find your nearby stop and access live departures information, as well as a fully featured trip planner and schedule tool. Users can save their favourite stops and share trips via social media, as well as viewing all transit routes and stops via an interactive Bing map.
We used Sound Transit’s One Bus Away and Open Trip Planner APIs (Application Programming Interface) to power the site, which receives an average of over one million monthly visitors.
