Steer has been appointed by Colchester2020 to provide maps to help promote Walk to Work Week in April 2010.
Leading transport consultancy Steer Davies Gleave has been appointed by Colchester2020 (the Local Strategic Partnership) to provide maps to help promote Walk to Work Week in April 2010.
The maps are being funded by North East Essex PCT to help promote walking in the borough.
The walking route maps will be easy to use to help people to plan journeys by foot. They will identify local landmarks and recommended routes to key locations and major employers in the area, and give advice on accessibility.
Longer-term, the maps will contribute towards a new online mapping project, ‘Walk Colchester’, which is currently in planning stages.
Walk to Work Week is a national initiative, and these local route maps are part of the Colchester2020 Travel Plan Club’s promotional strategy which will be supported by a blogspot and facebook group, events, challenges and competitions.
