We are excited to welcome Sierra Laventure-Volz to our Pittsburgh office, where she will be co-located with colleagues at Fourth Economy.
With a background in US federal and state funding and project development, Sierra works with public transportation agencies to develop and fund transit, roadway, port, rail, and multi-modal projects.
Sierra managed the national planning strategy and grants group of a large international consulting engineer working with agencies across the US to develop transportation projects for federal funding and competitive grant programs. In the past two years alone, she directly secured over $500 million in federal and state grant dollars to projects ranging from BART’s Core Capacity transit program to multiple Indiana Department of Transportation highway projects.
Sierra also brings experience from her work at Fourth Economy, where she supported regional economic development strategies as well as funding and organizational development. For example, her work on the Indiana Regional Cities Initiative in 2015 resulted in significant recommendations in investment and development strategies to communities across Indiana to boost talent attraction and retention.
In addition to involvement in project development and funding strategies, Sierra will support the business case development of the transformational Link21 program in the Northern California megaregion and the evaluation of the economic benefits from California High Speed Rail.
