Steer London office hosts immersive job experience week

We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to host nine talented students at our London office for an immersive week of work experience.

By Steer

We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to host nine talented students from Lambeth, Wandsworth, Hammersmith and Fulham at our London office for an immersive week of work experience.

At Steer, we believe in nurturing young talent and providing them with invaluable insights into the world of consultancy and transport planning.

Here's a glimpse of what our students experienced:

Exploring consultancy: Our students had the chance to gain a comprehensive understanding of the consultancy field and immerse themselves in the day-to-day activities that drive our industry forward.

Transport planning unveiled: From attending important business meetings to delving into the various facets of transport planning, our students got an up-close look at how we shape sustainable transportation systems for the cities we serve.

Skill-building: We offered extensive training sessions to enhance our students' employability skills. They gained valuable expertise in Excel, data presentation, project management, interview skills, and CV writing and participated in employer assessment days.

Sustainability and transport: As part of a collaborative team project, our students had the opportunity to design their very own sustainable street. This hands-on experience allowed them to explore the intricate relationship between sustainability and transportation.

Real-world impact: To showcase the tangible impact of transport planning, we visited Canary Wharf. This eye-opening experience highlighted how our work influences the shaping of cities.

We want to thank the logistical masterminds who made this week a resounding success.

We are delighted to have received incredibly positive feedback from our students, who shared their thoughts on the experience.

The week exceeded expectations, I learned a lot!

I gained presentation skills and confidence in speaking. This will help me in future interviews.

The week met my expectations because I thought I would learn a lot, and I did!

We wish all the participants tremendous success in their future careers. It is inspiring to see such talented individuals embark on their professional journeys, and we are proud to have played a part in their growth.
