Florian appointment further strengthens Steer’s growing transport planning and delivery team in the North, supporting our clients to deliver sustainable, integrated and future-proofed transport solutions.

Florian joins Steer with a decade of transport planning experience in the North of England, across the UK and internationally as a project manager and technical leader. He has a track record of developing evidence-based transport strategies supported by effective consensus-building at all levels. In Greater Manchester, Florian recently led the review and refresh of the city region’s new walking, wheeling and cycling network (the ‘Bee Active’ Network). He previously authored the Five-Year Transport Delivery Plan, the first step towards the Greater Manchester Transport Strategy 2040.

In his new role, Florian will contribute to growing and expanding Steer’s presence in the North of England and Scotland, working with our movement, place and design experts across Steer’s Manchester, Leeds, and other UK and global offices.

Florian said:
“I’m absolutely delighted to join Steer’s growing team in Manchester. I genuinely believe there is huge potential for a local sustainable transport revolution in the North – not in the distant future, but here and now. The North is full of great cities with great ambitions, and Steer is at the heart of delivering them.”

Nicola Kane, UK North Director at Steer, said:
“It’s fantastic to have Florian in the team.  His technical ability and enthusiasm for developing ambitious but credible sustainable transport solutions for our clients will be a huge asset to the Manchester office. 2024 is set to be an exciting year for Steer in the North!”
