Steer has supported the successful financial close of a major modernisation programme at the Rafael Núñez International Airport, marking a key milestone for one of Colombia’s most important transport hubs.
The project, led by Operadora Internacional Aeropuerto de Cartagena (OINAC), represents the country’s first private-initiative airport PPP and will deliver significant upgrades to capacity, passenger experience and operational performance.
Steer supported as the Lender’s Traffic Advisor, providing demand forecasts to underpin the investment case and financial structuring.
The financial close brings together funding from leading banks and infrastructure investors, reflecting strong confidence in the project’s long-term viability and strategic importance.
With passenger numbers already exceeding 8 million annually, the modernisation will help ensure the airport can accommodate future growth while enhancing its role as a key gateway for Colombia’s Caribbean region.
